It was worth a try - I know nothing about modern irises!

For the blue/purple one, try looking at black Wings (kirkland 1930); Maisie Lowe (Gibson 1930); Sable (Cook 1940) or The Black Douglas (Sass 1934) The last has purple based foliage.
